I'm on a horse! Someone somewhere said this commercial would have done horribly in any sort of pre-screening sort of situation, but now it's damn popular. I always liked the Bruce Campbell Old Spice commercials too.

I don't think it's likely to damage your eye. You should probably be more worried about asking for medical advice on some random person's blog.

Comment on Hacking the Treo 700p by UCSBCompSci

Michael,

THANK YOU so much. It worked like a charm on my Sprint Treo 700p. Some details.

Background Info
-I ported my number from Sprint to a different carrier on a new handset but forgot to ask Sprint for my MSL first, just in case I changed my mind and missed the 700p
-I missed the Treo's voice quality so I wanted to go back to Sprint, they wanted a 2 year contract, so this ruled Sprint out.
-I tried to get the MSL from Sprint so I could go on to VZW or metroPCS on a month to month basis. I tried 3 different Sprint customer service employees, they all said NO, we only provide the MSL if you still have an active phone line with us. (I just ported my number 2 weeks ago, still paying them for this month's service...)

-So thinking that any CS major worth his or her salt should not give up easily on this, I found your page via Google and followed your procedure. Everything worked as you've outlined. Some minor observations:

-I did use the older version of Resco Explorer (the 4.x version, circa 2008) to stay in synch with your procedure
-The record numbers were only "off by 1". My MSL was in #441 instead of #442
-Record 440 contained my Contract Start date
-the only other install problem I had was lack of space on the phone RAM, so I had to remove some apps and photos, before synching the CDMA updater.
-I used the Palm Desktop Synch process to install Resco Explorer and CDMAUpdater because my Treo's Internet service was already disconnected.

Thanks again.

I just thought of something else.Torti's have really interesting personalities. They are pedictably bossy... but very loving. This has been the majority of my experience.I have about 7 that I look after and though they are not the same they exhibit "like"traits.Mine ARE vocal.I see this post was a while ago,but cats most always get used to each other.Non altered animals tend to take precedence-there is no rule though.I am forever amazed at what cats do to survive and adjust. They are misunderstood by many -I have the highest regard for them as they have comforted me through some horrible times. There have been stray cats I have fed far away from my home to one day find them in my car port. This happened with 2 seperate males. One showed up when he was very ill,it was like he figured out where to go.One day it was cold and pouring rain and I stepped outside and there was a soaked orange tabby. On this day he let me catch him.Prior to that I could never get close to him but would feed him behind a service station. He found me and is still here today, that was 3 years ago!Good luck and God Bless.

I am not sure if or when you will get this, but the cat is a female. As mentioned earlier, torti's are almost never male.I do rescue and have never come across one. There is a saying about cats,"You don't find them, they find you".You see alot of abandonment with the forclosures. From what I can see,she looks great. The shelters are grossly overfilled and the animals are at a huge disadvantage. It would be her good fortune to find a forever home...thank you for looking out for her.

Terribly late reply, I know.

"Even if the conservative base wants small government, I do not think history supports the assertion that the Republicans are the party of small government — and yet they keep attracting the votes."

Recent history, yes. Distressing, I know, but the party is shifting. These tea parties are full of newly minted libertarians. -- whatever else may be said about this, that the democratic party is somehow more about limiting the authority of the federal government; cannot be of it. It seems counter intuitive for a rational person to go to the complete other side of political philosophy, merely because you lack company where you immediately sit.

"Also, I think we need and deserve a book-smart president. "

We certainly do. I'm merely referring to the imperfect candidates that have/are/will be presented. It matters more* to me that someone can say how and why the government powers should be limited, then be able to give a lecture on George Orwell, which isn't to say that this doesn't* matter, but that it matters less*.

Principles. You can't chuck them out the window because someone is charismatic and/or intelligent, because when a very intelligent nihilist that you elect creates a death star, you're dead. Book smarts are*absolutely* forsakable in the face of prinipal. Not ideal, but necessary, or maybe to put it as lightly as it can be: Preferable.

"The last guy thought with his gut"

Pushing for principled leadership isn't the same thing as saying "I want an emotionally driven leader". It's actually the opposite -- There's no case to be made that Obama's source of influence over people is derived of anything other than Charisma. This is much less the opposite.

It blows my mind that people can give vocal support to someone like, say, Ron Paul, and then turn around and show support for Obama, and not contempt for the government initiatives happening. This is puzzling, apart from my lack of faith in humanity.

I copied the files over like you said but then when I go to launch the application it just says launch error "the application cannot be launched because it is missing localization information." I moved the localization file to RAM as well as the app but it doesn't seem to be working?
