There’s been this big hullabaloo about the corn refiners association commercials talking about how high fructose corn syrup has been demonized in the media.
I take their side. I think there are very little ingredients that are harmful to any healthy person in small dosages. Also, those HFCS maniacs are freaking crazy. Have you ever met [...]

A lot of people are talking about how crazy PETA is since they wrote Ben and Jerry’s telling them to use human breast milk instead of cow’s milk. Ben and Jerry’s released a statement saying they applauded their out-of-the-box thinking but thought that human babies needed that breast milk.
Hello? Welcome to PETA’s point.

Michael and I spent the evening yesterday cleaning out the kitchen, doing laundry and taking out trash. My personal cleaning project was the fridge. I discovered some moldy cucumbers in our crisper and the liquid on my fingers made me decide to clean out our crisper drawers and clean the shelves in the fridge. It [...]

Our lemon tree started getting clusters of buds a week or two ago and I mentioned it here. I am pleased to present two full-out blossoms that smell delightful, a bit like honeysuckle. I took Inari outside and made her sniff one and she liked it so much she came out from the experience with [...]

Michael has decided he wants to go vegan again. He’s working mostly off of a food pyramid from wikipedia. We realized, upon studying the pyramid, that we went about veganism all wrong previously. All carbs and veggies, hardly any protein. Even still, I frequently cook meals that contain almost no protein whatsoever.
I hate to identify [...]

If you’ve never come with me to a grocery store or to pick up produce, you will have no idea how positively anal I am about fruits and veggies. I had never really eaten many fruits or vegetables when I began working at my first job at an orchard. I learned to spy what decay [...]

Yomato Sushi, located at 959 Ritchie Highway in Arnold, MD, is nestled unassumingly in the middle of a plain shopping center. The restaurant’s humble appearance might lead a prospective diner to expect a less-than-stellar dining experience. That prospective diner would be correct.
Last weekend was the second time we’ve eaten at Yomato Sushi, and the second [...]

If you guys don’t know the way into my heart or the way to get me to start encouraging, “Everybody get naked,” like Apu, it is very simple. Make me pretty much any drink where gin plays center stage. I love gin.
I had never had gin until I was at UMBC (unlike wine, beer, malt [...]
