The Bird and the Bee are Good

I take all my cues from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! So when Michael and I spent a good hour of our Valentine’s Day at a record store, he brought me the lp Rayguns Are Not Just the Future from The Bird and the Bee and I danced around, singing the song featured in the TEASGJ episode Larry.

Needless to say, we purchased the record and brought it home along with all the other supplies we needed for a good valentine’s day, which ended up being booze and soy ice cream. And we both ended up liking it.

The Bird and The Bee are this chick who sings, and this dude who does all the instrumentation. I know their names, but why should I recycle facts you can get on wikipedia. The point is, the album is good. The woman’s voice is reminiscent of Nina Gordon (y’know, The Cardigans) and sometimes Regina Spektor and it’s jazzy and wandering without being pretentious or sacrificing pop-iness. The music is catchy, it’s keyboard heavy which Michael and I like, but certainly isn’t for everyone. In any case, I come home and listen to this record, I go out and sing it under my breath all day, and Eric Wareheim (from TEASGJ, duh) did a video for a song from the album, which can be viewed on youtube here. While I’m linking to that, you all should watch the vodka movies he did with Tim and Zach Galifianakis, which are hilarious.

In any case, check out The Bird and The Bee, if you like that sort of thing.

See Michael, this is why I only write angry entries… I just can’t think of how to say nice things. And, anyway, I explained my cursory explanation with the fact that all of this information and more is readily available on wikipedia.
