Not Slimming so Fast.
Perhaps my expectations are unreasonable. Today I weigh the very same as I weighed last week, Michael has lost 1.5 pounds since last week.
I haven’t even cheated on my diet this week. I haven’t been outside or walking as much because my tree pollen allergies have kicked into full asthmatic, eczema-tastic gear.

Saturday, Michael and I went for a walk at Quiet Waters Park. They waived the $5 entry fee (per car) due to an earth day celebration. We walked down to the South River and saw an osprey. We walked around the Earth Day booths and bought some heirloom tomato plants (brandywine, bonny best), some pepper plants and a basil plant. It makes me feel better physically, even with my allergies, to walk around, but afterwards I feel pretty crappy.
The diet, meanwhile, is not so bad. I don’t have many cravings unless I focus on thinking about food. We’re not eating out, except we’ll order pizza one night a week, limiting ourselves to two slices and a plate full of veggies.
Meanwhile, I’ll try to start working out more this week to see if the weight loss will resume. I have no doubt with the way my weight has yo-yoed over the years that my metabolism is probably messed up. It might take a bit to return to normalcy.
I’m trying to stay positive, because either way, I’ll be sucking down slim-fast at least until mid-May.

don’t forget that womenstuff affect water retention and all that as well. are you drinking a lot of water too?
I gained 3 pounds last week. Now I have a seven pound deficit: the 2 I didn’t lose last week, the 2 I need to lose this week and the three I gained last week. Of course, I have a great excuse. I didn’t exercise, ate almost a whole pizza Thursday and a couple of cubic yards of mac & cheese last night.
And Zyrtec works really well for the allergies.
I’m on Zyrtec, have been for years. I’m also on a nasal inhaler. I’ve managed to find a system whereby I can sleep through nights, usually with some vicks and a breathe-right strip, but years before I figured all that out, I would wake up completely unable to breathe. I still have wheezing and eczema from mid-April to the end of May, most years. This year has been surprisingly mild so far.
I just have really awful, horrible allergies. Uncommonly awful and horrible.
