I give up on politics in America. There are obviously some very stupid people out there whom I have not met.

• Hillary Clinton is easily the sleaziest politician in the race, but is supported by very nearly 50% of Democrats. Her lies and assorted misstatements seem to have reflected more negatively on her husband than on her.
• Barack Obama is now an “elitist” for some reason, whatever that means, and 15% of people surveyed believe he is a Muslim. Oh, and he scratched his face with the wrong finger yesterday, which means he’s Machiavellian and evil now.
• John McCain is apparently cuddlier than any of us gave him credit for, because he’s approaching parity with Obama in electability contests. This man, who will largely continue the policies put in place by a man whom 28% of us support, enjoys broad support from the electorate.
• Plenty of people profess to hate all three candidates and express dismay over the choices they have been given, and yet third parties are just as unpopular as ever.

Whatever, people. I’m sick of reading the news. You deserve whatever you get.
