Annapolis Restaurant week starts this coming Sunday, March 9 until Friday, March 14. The lunch meal includes 2 courses (you choose an appetizer or dessert) for $10.95 and the Dinner meal is 3 courses (includes both an appetizer and a dessert) for $26.95.
I live around and work in Annapolis, and have attended some of the restaurants on the bill here. This link takes you to a list of restaurants and their menus for restaurant week. I’m going to try to help you avoid wasting your money over restaurant week on restaurants or dishes that just aren’t worth it by offering quick reviews of the places I’ve eaten.
- 4 Seasons Grille, Gambrills, MD.
Pretentious atmosphere, loud and crowded. Michael’s salmon was over-cooked and all the food seemed thrown together carelessly. Over-spiced or just badly spiced. On their menu, I recommend sticking to your red meats. Their butcher paella is spoken well of, as well. - Pomogrille, Bowie, MD.
Owned by the people who also own 4 Seasons Grille. More casual and fun atmosphere. The food that is done simply here is done well, but I wasn’t very impressed with my salmon – again, it was overcooked. Stick to shellfish and your meats and you’ll be okay. The mozzarella caprese is probably tasty as well since they had very good bruschetta. - Fado, Annapolis, MD
They dropped by my current employer to give us free food before they opened. They are supposed to have a sports-bar-y type atmosphere. The tomato mozzarella baguette is tasty. They do simple food pretty well – although I didn’t much care for the salad I got. - Irish Channel, Gambrills, MD.
Michael has a friend who worked here (professionally trained Ukranian chef) who said the food was awful. I’ve never been, mostly because the building itself looks uninteresting. I’m also immediately suspicious of five layer dip at a restaurant called “The Irish Channel.”
Personally – I’d try Nano (Japanese) or Kyma (greek). The Treaty of Paris has a boring-looking restaurant week menu (sometimes simple food is best), but the restaurant itself is in a really neat old row-house in Annapolis, near the docks. Michael may want to go there for an apple dumpling (he loves his apple dumplings). This week is probably a great chance to eat at the Melting Pot for a somewhat reasonable price. The Wild Orchid Cafe might be a good choice for vegetarians but like 5 dishes on their menu entail butternut squash (it is in season right now, sort of). The Rockfish is an Annapolis favorite.
I haven’t decided yet whether or not I’ll visit any of these restaurants as they’re generally outside of my budgetary limitations (within my budgetary limitations – taco bell, IHOP, home cooked meals). But who knows?

i went to Treaty of Paris last year – TWICE! I went twice because it was so good. The popovers were to die for and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. The staff was very friendly and I can’t remember what I ordered but whatever it was I loved it!
I hope they do it again this year.
