Looked up his record, he is, at the very least, consistent in his pro-life view.  Minus the whole death penalty comment.</description>

		<description>Tom Coburn is a strange fellow. He&#039;s generally antagonistic toward the legislative establishment, the congressional district in Oklahoma that repeatedly elected him to the House tends to be freethinking (and left-leaning, to some degree), and he seems to have pretty high standards of personal integrity.

On the other hand, he supports the death penalty for people who perform abortions, honestly believes that there is an insidious &quot;gay agenda&quot;, and in 1997 referred to NBC&#039;s decision to broadcast &lt;em&gt;Schindler&#039;s List&lt;/em&gt; as &quot;irresponsible sexual behavior&quot; because the film contained nudity.

It just goes to show you that people can have abhorrent views without being abhorrent themselves.</description>
