A Valentine’s Song
Yesterday, I’m sitting at my desk, doing whatever work it is I do here, which usually entails amusing myself in various ways on the internet. Which reminds me, I need to look up this crazy vulture like bird I saw today. It was big and black, maybe with some white spots on the wings. It had this light brown face that looked vaguely human, and a very long thin beak. It was a really creepy bird. But anyway, so I’m sitting at work reading about alien abductions or tornado safety or whatever it is I find to amuse myself and I get a phone call.
Normally my line rings when Michael calls or someone in the office calls to make me go look for someone else that won’t answer their line. I didn’t recognize the number, though, and it wasn’t even local. So I pick up with my normal greeting (Resource Assessment, this is Kara) and a man asks for me by my full name. I still think he might be someone I call in my normal line of duty asking for prices on resource-y things. Then he introduces himself as the piano man and proceeds to sing me a personalized Valentine’s Day song, using a sample of Grandmaster Flash’s “The Message.” Michael has purchased the mp3 of this performance, so that we can keep it for posterity. I’m still trying to find a way to paste an mp3 into a scrapbook.
I laughed so much my face hurt. People in my office must think I’m crazy. I hope you laugh, too.
i laughed so hard my eyes watered!!! hahaha, that was awesome!
