I just got this email to my work account from someone I have never, ever in my life spoken to. Thought I’d share it, and then my bitterness and anger.

First of all, I made no edits to the text. The text really is that big and that italicized. Obnoxious.
Second of all, I removed two enormous .bmp images, which really ruins the obscene effect the email had on me, but you know, they’re huge and they’re .bmp and I have no decent photo manipulation software on this computer since I’m at work.
Where do I start being offended? Where can I start to explain? I don’t get any personal email to my work address, and I like it that way. The last thing I expect is a forward from someone I don’t know popping up in there. This man works in the building, but I have never met him, to my knowledge.
I won’t get my panties all twisted with the line about how atheists are trying to take God out of our government (when, if you will recall, this government was founded on the concept of taking God out of government for a very good reason. People forget so easily the one reason we were all taught why the pilgrims decided to come to the states was religious freedom. The only way we can all have religious freedom through our government is if our government does not associate with any one religion. End of story, go back and read your history book, maybe take some lessons in basic logic.)
No, what offends me most is this. Faith is not a matter to be tossed around in email, most especially not a retarded forward. The truly devout and the atheists will agree on this point. Whatever you believe cannot, and should not be condensed into a forwardable format. Even if I was a Christian, if I believed and accepted Jesus as my savior, I would feel disgusted by that email. We ought to show our beliefs by acting in accordance with them, not by sending out a trite email to someone you don’t even know.
Faith is something you study and discover for yourself. It’s not something you need to prove to anyone else. It’s not something you need to share through email. It is meant to be shared and expressed in our actions, joyfully.
